Email Outreach, The Third Most Effective Way To Quickly Generate More Leads
In the previous articles, we wrote about partnerships and referrals being the fastest route to generate leads. Now here comes the third one—email outreach. FYI, this is also a powerful tool to generate leads quickly. While you can still focus on the search engine, social media and content creation for brand awareness, the three routes mentioned earlier provide direct access to your target audience and skip the algorithms completely, allowing you to deliver personalised messages right to them. And the best part is, it’s free. Email, it’s always measurable. Email platforms provide detailed analytics that track open rates, click-through rates, and conversions, giving you valuable insights into campaign performance—that will enable you to continuously improve the strategy.
Now, how do you plan to increase the odds when it comes to getting the right responses? Well, it starts with your email list. Avoid purchasing email lists at all costs, as these often contain nothing but rubbish. You can build a solid list from the business cards you’ve acquired, interactions you’re making online and people you met at events. This list must continue to be nurtured and grown. Once you have a solid list, craft a script. It needs to have a compelling subject line and a decent length of copywriting to grab attention and entice recipients to open your emails.
Then, comes personalisation. Address recipients by their first name. Tailor your script accordingly. CTA or call-to-action matters too. Always include a clear call to action in your emails, guiding recipients towards the desired next step—whether to visit your website, subscribe to your newsletter, download a resource, or schedule an appointment.
Talking about the script, do not use that script’s first version. You need to improve it. While you are hanging on to that version, observe other people’s copywriting and understand the gaps or weaknesses in yours. This process is called A/B testing. Continue to improve the subject lines, calls to action, and email body copy until you are satisfied with the final best. Even then, keep making it better. Once all is good, distribute it.
FYI, several reports indicate that average email open rates fall between 20-36 per cent, while conversion rates typically range from 2-5% for cold email campaigns. Again these figures can vary depending on factors like industry, target audience, countries, the quality of the copywriting and email list.
